- Outlook Express Recovery freezes during scan.
- How can I set up custom swap file size?
- I can't open the recovered attachments — it says it's incorrect, the recovered files are damaged.
Question: Outlook Express Recovery freezes during scan.
Answer: While it's not the common case, we know several possible reasons why Outlook Express Recovery may freeze during scan process. When there is not enough memory, it may be useful to increase swap file size above 4 GB and fix it on selected value. If you're scanning the drive connected via USB adapter, try to connect it to the motherboard directly by SATA or ATA interface, this may increase both speed and scan accuracy. If the size of the device you're scanning is below the free space on other drive, you can try to create the image of it to avoid any possible physical problems of your source drive, this gives the best effect on memory cards or USB Flash Drives. Right-click to the source drive, select Create Recovery Shapshot and specify to save it on your local hard drive, then in the same way mount it and try to scan as usual drive.
