When there are problems with hard drive
- How can I scan the drive if it even does not shown in your product?
- Your product does not display the partition I need to scan, but it shows the Physical drive available.
- I've complete the scan, but some messages are missing. How can I get them?
- Can your product assist me in recovering data from RAID?
Question: How can I scan the drive if it even does not shown in your product?
Answer: All the drives you're trying to scan must be visible in My Computer as a drive with assigned drive letter. Hard Drives with lost partitions must be visible as a hard drive with normal size in BIOS and Drive Management screen. If your remote device is not shown in My Computer as a drive with assigned drive letter, it can't be scanned with our product. You should remove the storage from your device and attach it by internal SATA or ATA interface if it's HDD, or if it's memory card, you can use card reader device. If you can't get your hard drive visible in BIOS, you should check it with low-level HDD test applications before to use data recovery solutions. In some cases additional BIOS settings also need to be applied.
Question: Your product does not display the partition I need to scan, but it shows the Physical drive available.
Answer: Your partition is not available, but you still can try to recover your messages with Email Recovery, just use Recover emails after a disk crash mode. If you want to reconstruct the lost partition, please try SoftAmbulance Partition Doctor.
Question: I've complete the scan, but some messages are missing. How can I get them?
Answer: If you've tried Fast Scan, rescan the drive in Full Scan mode. If you've used Repair damaged database, please try Recover emails after a disk crash, so the product will collect all the possible email information. If your messages are still not found, you can try SoftAmbulance Uneraser or Partition Doctor to find and recover email databases or single attachments. You also can try Photo Undelete for pictures and videos, which has improved algorithms for specific file formats, and may recover more image and video files than other products in selected cases.
Question: Can your product assist me in recovering data from RAID?
Answer: If your email database was stored on RAID, and if you still can access the array, you can try to scan it with our product like usual partition or physical drive. But if you can't access your RAID in Windows, and the Raid array is not available in our product as single device, our product may help you only if you've used RAID Level 1. For RAID 1 you should try to scan each single drive from array like usual HDD. If this will not bring your messages back, try another drive, as RAID-1 can be based on two or more drives.
