Answer: When you scan the drive with our product, no any write operation will be performed to the drive or partition. But that's not all, you should not save the recovered messages into the email database if it's stored on the same drive, and do not save EMLs as well to the source partition. You can create another Outlook Express email base on another partition to place there recovered messages, and you also can export the messages to EML files to another drive. After recovery of all messages is done, and there's nothing you can overwrite, you can move the messages into original email bases on the source partition without any risk.

Question: My drive is connected by USB adapter, is it a problem?
Answer: It is a possible problem. You can use USB adapters for Hard Drives, but it's not recommended, as the adapters can distort read request results on damaged files, which makes successful recovery procedure almost impossible. If the drive is connected by internal SATA or ATA, you can expect higher speeds and more accurate results in email recovery. Also when you're using NAS, if possible, get the drive from the NAS rack and connect it to the motherboard directly.
