Answer: It's important to keep the source drive untouched, as all the lost and deleted data is contained in the sectors marked as free, and all the new files can be written over your lost data making it unrecoverable. Question: Can I restore the data from hard drive connected by USB adapter?

Answer: While you can use USB adapters for Hard Drives, it's not recommended, as they often distort read request results in case of damaged data, which is necessary for recovery procedure. When hard drive is connected by internal SATA or ATA, you can expect higher speeds and more complex and accurate results in mail recovery. The same thing we can say about NAS, if possible, extract hard disk drive from the rack and connect to the motherboard directly.
