SoftAmbulance Outlook Recovery FAQ

Common Questions about drive problems

Question: I want to recover my messages, but hard drive is not available to scan in your software.

Answer: All the drives you're trying to scan must be visible in My Computer as a disk with assigned drive letter. For hard drives it's necessary only if you want to scan the partition. But if the partition is not available, but the HDD can be seen in BIOS and Drive Management screen, you also should be able to search the hard drive with our software. If storage media is not designed to work as Windows disk with assigned partition letter, you should try to extract the storage from the device and connect to the PC directly, for example, using SATA or ATA for hard disks and card readers for memory cards. If your HDD is not visible in BIOS, or it's available but with incorrect sizes, check it's jumper configuration or try to scan with low-level disk tools before to use data recovery software.

Question: What if I need to recover my email database placed on RAID disk?

Answer: If you've stored your email database on RAID disk, if you can access your RAID in usual way, just try to scan it as usual drive with Repair damaged database or Recover email after disk crash. If you can't access the array in My Computer, our software will help you only if your RAID is level 1. Mount single disk from RAID set and scan it as separate physical hard disk drive. If this will not help, you always can use another drive from RAID set, as RAID 1 means two or more drive mirrored to gain up the data protection. If all these steps will not help, please contact our support service.
